French Republican Calendar

During the French Revolution a new calendar was used.
This calendar was used officially from September 22, 1792 (first day of the Rebublic) to its abolition by Napoleon on January 1, 1806.There were 12 monthes : Vendémiaire, Brumaire, Frimaire, Nivose, Pluviose, Ventose, Germinal, Floréal, Prairial, Messidor, Thermidor, Fructidor.
Each month had 30 days.
Five or 6 days were added at the end of the year to complete to 365 or 366 days.The first day of the rebublican year was the first day of autumn and was named Vendemiaire 1 (about September 22 or 23 or 24).
