LIGNEY and GOUBIER Genealogy   throughout 15 centuries

"A king and an hanged man."
A few monthes ago, I heard that each of us comes from a king and an hanged man.
In these pages, you will find some kings and emperors such as Clovis, Charlemagne or Hugues Capet and many others
and also some people less famous, less happy and less privileged by the fate, such as Jean Dupont and his wife Anne Brosche, both dead from hunger in april and may 1694, under Louis XIV reign.
I dedicace these pages to all these people, famous or anonymous, who made our history.

There are 4237 individuals and 1561 families representing 1137 surnames in this database produced on February 4, 2007.

The data presented in these pages have been found by some of my relatives during the last years.
(my father Alain LIGNEY, my uncle Andre DUCOUDRE, my parents in law Joseph and Maryse GOUBIER,
my cousins Jean-Louis GUEUDET and Daniel MELIN, ...).
I want to thank them for their help.

My search on the web lead me to a US cousin Troy Bettinger who gave me very valuable clues.
With these clues I could find very quickly 4 more generations in Lorraine. Thank you very much Troy.
Dieter Robert Bettinger in Germany and Eugen Bettinger in the US gave me some help too.

If these pages can help you to find your ancestors, please e-mail me.
